Field/Laboratory: This species can only be identified positively in the laboratory. However, it is only found flying at midday on a hot, sunny summer's day on the coast. If it is found under these conditions, it will almost definately be A. ochraceus. It would be necessary to take a couple of specimens to send for identification to confirm the record.
